| Danny
& Clyde's Food Store, Inc. was founded in 1973 by two
boyhood friends, Ernest "Big Dan" Danjean &
Perrin "Clyde" Rittiner. The company was started
with one location in Gretna, Louisiana. In 1976, an innovative
and strategic move was made as the company opened their first
store with a deli. The concept was an immediate success, establishing
Danny & Clyde’s as the home of the best Overstuffed
Po-Boy in the New Orleans area. This innovation pre-dated
the current movement within the industry to incorporate food
service into the convenience offer.
By 1984, 10 stores, all with delis, were being operated throughout
the New Orleans metro area. A number of stores have been sold
over the years and replaced with larger locations. In recent
years, the Company has opened several profitable locations
in the Metairie, Slidell, Houma, and Thibodaux areas giving
the company a presence throughout southern Louisiana.
Both of the original founders are now deceased. However, the
next generation of the founders are actively running the company.
Chris Rittiner, the President of Danny & Clyde’s
Food Store, is the son of Clyde Rittiner. Donna Cyprowski,
the President of Danny & Clyde’s New Orleans’
Po-Boys and More, is the daughter of "Big Dan" Danjean.
Through
their leadership, the tradition of Convenience, Quality, and
the Overstuffed Po-Boy continues.
The current growth plan calls for Danny & Clyde’s
to begin offering franchise agreements to retailers throughout
Louisiana and beyond. Danny & Clyde’s seeks qualified
investors who have a passion for serving customers quality
food and exceptional value.
